SMALL TOTEMS FOR DOMESTIC LANDSCAPES

May 10, 2024

Two classics from the Twergi collection, designed by architect Ettore Sottsass, are back, seamlessly merging the tactile allure of nature with the intellectual experience of a work of art.

Alessi has reintroduced two pieces of the Twergi collection that were designed by Ettore Sottsass in 1989, adding a touch of artistry to everyday rituals. Crafted with playful overlapping shapes and vibrant colors, these designs embody timeless quality and design. The re-introductions to the collection include a revamped pepper mill, which can also grind salt and spices of all kinds and is available in black, red and green, and a nutcracker, now available in a vibrant red/ pink or green/ yellow combo.

The Twergi collection seamlessly blends the age-old craftsmanship of Strona Valley's turners, nestled by Lake Orta and the birthplace of Alessi, with Ettore Sottsass's profound connection to nature. 'My childhood was deeply shaped by nature,' Sottsass once said, and the result of this influence has been a range of kitchen and tableware that channels the architect's sculptural finesse through a blend of colourful and distinctive objects with overlapping volumes. Sottsass's creations, though compact, exude self-assuredness, captivating attention with the potency and poetry of fine art. The warmth of wood meets timeless design in this collection, marrying practicality with aesthetic allure

Kräftige Farben, umhüllt von warmem Buchenholz - das ist es, was diese ergonomisch gestaltete Salzmühle ausmacht. Wie eine kleine bunte Skulptur in der Mitte Ihres Esstisches.
